Ronaldo And Juventus Players Facing Legal Action
MILAN: Cristiano Ronaldo and several key players in Juventus are facing legal action for joining their respective national squads despite the COVID-19 rules issued after two positive cases were confirmed in the club, authorities in Turin said today.
In addition to Ronaldo who is with the Portuguese squad, several players from South America including Paulo Dybala, Juan Cuadrado, Danilo and Rodrigo Bentacur also left the Juventus accommodation hotel without waiting for the test results to be conducted this week.
“The club itself told us some players left the quarantine area and as such we will notify the relevant authorities for further action,” Piedmont Regional Health Director Roberto Testi was quoted as saying by the Ansa news agency.
The entire Juventus squad and team staff have been undergoing quarantine since last Saturday.
However, the procedure does not prevent them from training or playing but only prevents them from connecting with outsiders.
