Mourinho: Few Wins Not Enough To Send Me To The Moon

AdminNovember 7, 2020

Tottenham head coach Jose Mourinho has refused to be swayed by Spurs’ chances of winning the English Premier League (EPL) title as they look forward to occupying the top spot in the league.

Spurs enjoy a brilliant start to the season ahead of their clash with West Brom – unbeaten in the EPL since they lost to Everton in the league debut.

Tottenham have a chance to rise to the league throne if they beat the WBA, before Leicester City receive a visit from the Wolves and defending champions Liverpool travel to Manchester City.

But Mourinho, who has won three EPL titles with Chelsea, has rejected talks on winning the EPL.

“No, no, no,” Mourinho said when asked if he felt Tottenham were on track to win the league for the first time since 1961.

“I have years of experience in the football arena and some victories that put me on the moon and not some defeats that led me to hell,” he said.

“It’s all about balance, making it one by one, looking for improvements and seeing what happens.”
