Solskjaer Praises Performance Against Man City
MANCHESTER, United Kingdom: Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer says his side have put in the best performance against Manchester City despite a 0-0 draw at Old Trafford not helping them chase the Premier League title.
After being knocked out of the Champions League at the group stage, a draw saved Solskjaer from another defeat that could jeopardize his career as a manager.
United are also one point better than the main challenger.
United are currently in seventh place, five points behind Tottenham and Liverpool in the standings while City are in ninth place.
“When I faced City, it was the best performance we went through. It was not a good result, but the best performance,” Solskjaer said.
“We beat them last season but it was a different match, we did a quick counter-attack. Today we are better, we are more preventing them from our penalty box.
“We can’t create as much as we want. They may have a lot of chances if they play open, we have a few chances through a corner kick. Overall, a draw, everyone should be happy with it.”
