Juventus Waiting For Dybala’s Answer
MILAN: Juventus President Andrea Agnelli said today that the Italian champion was awaiting an answer from Argentine striker Paulo Dybala over a contract offer that would make him “among the top 20 highest paid footballers in Europe.”
Dybala scored his first goal in Serie A in five months last Sunday when he won 3-1 over Genoa and told reporters afterwards that he had not yet received news regarding the contract extension which expires in June 2022.
“A lot of untrue things were said about my contract,” he said.
Agnelli stressed that the 27-year-old, who was infected with COVID-19 for six weeks earlier this year, “has already accepted an offer given to him as one of the top 20 highest paid players in Europe.”
“We are calmly waiting for the answer,” Agnelli said during the awards ceremony in Turin.
“The positive news is that he scored again. Paulo has had enough time after the coronavirus, with a slow recovery.
“I’m happy to hear his confession that he loves Juve. We see Paulo as the team’s future captain. Even now he always wears that girth.”
