Mbappe’s Actions Prove Tuchel Was Sacked
PARIS: While Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) is still silent on the dismissal of Thomas Tuchel, striker Kylian Mbappe has expressed his appreciation on social media proving the coach is no longer the operator of the French giants.
The club’s management refused to make any statement when contacted by AFP to confirm the shocking news reported by L’Equipe, RMC and German tabloid Bild.
“Not sure,” said a team spokesman when asked about the authenticity of the news.
However, Mbappe’s actions in favor of Tuchel on social media seem to prove that the coach has been fired.
“Unfortunately this is normal in football and no one will forget you here.
“You managed to make history in this club and I want to thank you,” Mbappe said.
Former Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino, who has been with the club for two and a half years, will probably start training for the first time on January 3.
Tuchel, 47, arrived at the Parc des Princes on a two-year contract in 2018 and managed to bring the club into the Champions League final for the first time last season.
However, if the report is valid, the German would be the first PSG coach to have to leave the club in the middle of the season since Antoine Kombouare replaced Carlo Ancelotti in December 2011.
