Arteta: Arsenal Players Are Tired
LONDON: Mikel Arteta admits Arsenal are tired of their recent rise before the 0-0 draw against Crystal Palace just now.
Arteta’s squad has won all four matches in all tournaments but they are lucky to be able to continue the string without losing to five matches.
Palace failed to complete some chances in the first half at the Emirates Stadium and although Arsenal improved after the break, they missed the chance to return to the Premier League.
“I want to see victory and some goals but we are tired. I can not blame the existing spirit but it is not enough,” said Arteta.
“We created a lot of difficult situations early in the game but there were times when we gave the ball too easily.
“We play a lot of games and you can see the fatigue. A lot of players are not fresh. We lack quality in the final to win the competition.”
Arsenal are currently 11th, eight points behind in the Champions League when they began to feel the effects of a bad start from 1974-75.
