Guendouzi Joins Hertha Berlin From Arsenal

BERLIN: Arsenal midfielder Matteo Guendouzi today signed a one-year loan deal to join Bundesliga club Hertha Berlin.

The 21-year-old, who can also play as a defensive midfielder, is a product of the Paris Saint-Germain academy (PSG) and made 57 appearances in the English Premier League (EPL) for the Gunners.

“Discussions with the club’s senior players convinced me to join them,” Guendouzi said in a statement.

“I not only want to improve personally but help the whole club take the next step.”

Guendouzi made 82 appearances for Arsenal and was a second-half substitute in the 2019 Europa League final when he lost to Chelsea.

He was called four times to be with the French national team but has yet to make his debut.
