Loew: Germany Unfortunate Day
SEVILLE: Joachim Loew admits it was an unfortunate day for Germany after losing 0-6 to Spain in the UEFA Nations League, early this morning.
Ferran Torres scored a hat-trick for Spain in Seville, leaving Loew to face Germany’s worst defeat in 89 years.
“This is an unfortunate day for us,” Loew said after Germany’s worst defeat since the 0-6 defeat at the hands of Austria in Berlin in 1931.
“We really missed our plan after falling behind 0-1 and Spain took advantage of the opportunity they had.
“Everything does not become either in defense or attack.
“We gave Spain a lot of space and the players did not communicate well between them.”
The number of goals is twice as big as the losses suffered by Loew as a former German coach when he lost 0-3 at the hands of the Czech Republic in 2007 and the Netherlands in 2018.
