Rangnick Focused On United’s Defense
MANCHESTER: Ralf Rangnick insists he wants to make Manchester United more balanced by strengthening a loose defensive wall.
The 63-year-old spoke at his first press conference as United manager after his side’s 3-2 win over Arsenal yesterday.
“We talked about six and a half months, a third of the season and we agreed to two years of negotiations as advisors.
“When Manchester United contact you with this offer, you can’t turn it down. United are one of the biggest teams in the world and I’m excited to work with the players here.
“I watched the games against Watford, Chelsea, Arsenal and also watched the games against Liverpool and Manchester City on television.”
Rangnick also added ‘this team clearly has a lot of young, talented and experienced players’.
“My main goal is to bring more balance to the team.
“Yesterday we conceded two goals and need three goals to win. On average, we conceded two goals in every game.
“This is too extreme. So I want to bring more balance and control,” he said.
