Real Madrid Are In Pursuit Of Mbappe
MADRID: Real Madrid have made a 137 million pound offer to Paris Saint-Germain for striker Kylian Mbappe.
The offer could pave the way for PSG to try to get Cristiano Ronaldo from Juventus.
Madrid have been hunting for Mbappe since he moved to PSG from Monaco in 2017. His contract will expire next summer and so far he has turned down three club offers to extend his contract.
PSG, who have yet to pair Mbappe with Neymar and Lionel Messi, are said not to be entertaining Madrid’s offer.
But they offered Ronaldo as Mbappe’s replacement and Neymar also urged PSG to consider Brazilian team -mate Richarlison from Everton.
Madrid made no purchase last summer and so far have only signed David Alaba from Bayern Munich, while releasing Martin Odegaard to Arsenal and Raphael Varane to Manchester United.
French radio station RMC claims PSG are now ready to release Mbappe whose contract still has one year left.
Madrid were initially unconvinced of PSG’s latest stance, but with the new offer, it will test how well they will defend Mbappe.
