Solskjaer Aks Man United For Improvement After Beat PSG

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer challenged Manchester United to prove that they have improved since beating Paris Saint-Germain (PSG).

United recorded a 2-1 win over PSG in the Champions League (UCL) in Paris early on Wednesday morning and it was their starting point before facing Chelsea in the English Premier League (EPL) early tomorrow morning.

The EPL giants also surprised PSG in March last year but then only won two of the last 12 matches of the 2018-19 season.

Solskjaer, whose side are currently in 15th place in the EPL with six points from four games, said he wanted to see United improve after beating PSG.

“For me, we now need consistency,” the United manager told reporters.

“We have too many fluctuations. You have to keep up the performance at home and for me, next week is the hardest test because we know what happened after we beat PSG before – the response was not so good, was it?

“It’s an opportunity for our players and staff to prove that they have forgotten that,” he said.

United will face Chelsea after two home defeats to Crystal Palace and Tottenham.

With each match now held privately following the coronavirus pandemic, Solskjaer said it was not the start of the season as usual.

“Well, the league this season started very strangely and it was a very strange atmosphere in the stadium.

“It’s not the same, it’s not like before. Without supporters, it’s less productive.

“After beating PSG, it was almost like we went to the training center and practiced well. The climax was gone,” he added.
