United Loaned Martial To Sevilla
MADRID: Manchester United striker Anthony Martial is completing a six -month loan to Sevilla, the club announced today as the French international looks set to resurrect his La Liga career.
Martial will join Sevilla to chase the title in Spain with the club in second place, four points behind Real Madrid.
The 26 -year -old told United interim manager Ralf Rangnick that he wanted to leave the club in January because he was frustrated with the lack of opportunities to play.
Rangnick then blamed Martial for refusing to be with the team against Aston Villa earlier this month but was denied by Martial.
He made his first appearance under Rangnick as a substitute against West Ham last weekend and assisted for Marcus Rashford’s winning goal.
“He’s a great player, one of the best strikers in the Premier League, but we have other players in his position. He really wants to leave the club,” Rangnick said on Saturday.
Martial was one of the best prospects in Europe when United signed him who also had a record as a teenager in 2015.
