Yazici Embarrassed Milan, Leicester Won
PARIS: Yusuf Yazici knocked down AC Milan which was strengthened by Zlatan Ibrahimovic with a hat-trick for Lille’s 3-0 victory over the seven-time European champions in the Europa League, just now.
Ibrahimovic, 39, stole the spotlight at the start of the competition after scoring seven goals in four league games and soaring the Italian giants to the top of Serie A.
Hatril Yazici put Lille undefeated in all competitions this season, one point ahead of Milan who lost for the first time since football resumed after being delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
It was Yazici’s second hat-trick in the Europa League this season after scoring three goals in a 4-1 win over Sparta Prague in the opening match.
Celtic are at the bottom of Group H after being beaten 4-1 at home by Sparta Prague.
Meanwhile, Kelechi Iheanacho became the star of Leicester City who recorded their third consecutive victory after thrashing Braga 4-0.
The Nigerian opened the scoring in the 21st minute and scored his second goal with a long shot three minutes before the break.
Iheanacho also baited the ball for goals from Dennis Praet and James Maddison to complete the victory of Brenda Rodgers’ squad leading Group G.
Arsenal also maintained a 100 per cent victory record after beating Molde 4-1.
